The Smartest Smart Furniture
Keeping people connected
In these fast-paced times, a reliable connection is more important than ever. With city populations relying on phone and internet in all areas of life, a city that makes connectivity effortless is truly smart.
Residents and visitors can make free national calls (time limited) and dial the emergency services from a Pulse Smart Hub, using either personal headphones or the integrated speaker. This is a real benefit for those who rely on public pay phones. Smart Hubs also host mobile device charging points.
Pulse Smart Hubs provide free WiFi, so residents and visitors can enjoy permanent connectivity as they move around the city. Our Hubs also provide the connectivity that's essential for third-party Smart City technology to thrive.
With the huge increase in mobile data usage and the dawn of 5G, greater capacity and coverage in urban environments is essential. Each Pulse Smart Hub provides opportunities for small cell off-loading. In other words, Pulse can be utilised as a mini phone mast to boost the network in your area.
Smart City platform
A Smart City is one that constantly evolves. Pulse Smart Hubs provide a network of data collection points to enable a better understanding of our cities. We work with individual local authorities and stakeholders to tackle the issues that truly matter within their community.
Pulse Smart Hubs have both the design and technology to transform a city into a Smart City. Tailored services meet the needs of each local area, and the sleek design has a footprint that’s 60% smaller than an existing phone kiosk, creating a modern, uncluttered street scene.
For the Internet of Things ecosystem to thrive, it needs connectivity. The Pulse Smart Hub provides power, data and space for city centre IoT technology, including collecting and sharing data on air quality, pedestrian footfall and traffic flow. There’s also built-in capacity for emerging telecoms.
Saving lives
Pulse Smart Hubs make cities safer with emergency access points and Public Access Defibrillators (PADs), allowing anyone, even without training, to save a life. The emergency 999 button seamlessly connects directly to the police, fire and medical services.
If someone experiences an ‘out of hospital sudden cardiac arrest’, the likelihood of survival is only 9% without defibrillation. When defibrillation is used, this increases to a staggering 59%. Our PADs are WiFi-enabled which means they connect with paramedics, simple to use without training, and only shock if an irregular heartbeat is detected.
If there is a medical emergency, or if someone feels intimidated or vulnerable, it may be beneficial for an emergency services operator to speak directly to a group of people. The Emergency Access Point enables this by the touch of a single button.
Sharing information
For a community to thrive, easy access to information is key. This is especially true for those residents who are ‘under connected’ or have limited high speed internet services. Pulse Smart Hubs bring the power of connection to all.
By using a simple to use touchscreen, users can access local government services and information via the council website. This benefits residents and local authorities alike, making it easy for people to find out what they need to know, including events and activities, and makes council information and public service announcements accessible to everyone.
Pulse allow visitors to access to local maps which can be scanned onto your device using the NFC panel, tourist information, places of interest, local facilities and cultural events; as well as providing routes and contact information. Having all this information in one place saves people time and energy, so they can get on with enjoying the city and its surroundings.
